Stichting The Young Pianist Foundation (‘YPF’) presenteert een serie concerten in De Duif voor jonge top-pianisten, de ‘Young Virtuosi’, waarin zij de kans krijgen hun vakmanschap verder te ontwikkelen en het beste uit zichzelf te halen. Jonge top-pianisten zullen tijdens deze bijzondere concerten spelen op de vleugel van de legendarische Russische pianist Youri Egorov, die op 33-jarige leeftijd in Amsterdam overleed.

Biography
Based in London, British-Chinese pianist Noah Zhou began his musical journey at the
age of 5. Generously supported by the Eileen Rowe Musical Trust for a number of years, he
has since gone on to have completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music,
where he was awarded the Sir Elton John Scholarship. He is currently pursuing his Master’s
at the same institution, where he studies with the Emeritus Head of Keyboard, Christopher
Elton. He is also generously supported by the Hattori Foundation and the Countess of
Munster Trust.
Noah has been the recipient of a number of awards, notably 2nd Prize at the YPF
European Grand Prix (2022), as well as the Royal Philharmonic Society of Great Britain’s
Duet Prize for Best Young Instrumentalist (2018). He has also been awarded 1st Prizes at
Valsesia Musica International Competition (2021) and the Euregio Piano Award (2021). On
top of this, Noah has to his name the titles of Laureate of the Rio International Competition
(2022); Horowitz International Competition (2019); Campillos International Competition
(2021), and was a finalist at the UK Piano Open (2020); and Manchester International
Concerto Competition (2019).
Noah frequently performs in concerts, and has appeared at many venues all over the
world, including London’s St John’s Smith Square, Southbank Royal Festival Hall, BBC
Hoddinott Hall, and Steinway Hall (UK); Kiev’s Philharmonia Hall (Ukraine); Gothenburg’s
Operan and Konserthuset (Sweden); Budapest’s Danube Palace (Hungary); Amsterdam’s
Bimhuis and Muziekgebouw (Netherlands); Faro’s Teatro Lethes (Portugal); Bayreuth’s
Steingraeber Kammermusik-Saal (Germany); Eisenstadt’s Esterhazy Palace (Austria);
Pazardzhik’s ‘Maestro G. Atanasov’ Concert Hall (Bulgaria); Varallo’s Teatro Civico and
Verona’s Auditorium al Palazzo della Gran Guardia (Italy); Vrsac’s Millenium Hall (Serbia);
Rio’s Sala Cecilia Meireles (Brazil); and Sendai’s Hitachi Systems Hall (Japan), amongst
others. He has collaborated with orchestras, including the Phion Orchestra of the
Netherlands; the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine; the Brazilian National
Symphony Orchestra; the Danube Symphony Orchestra; the Manchester Camerata; the
Pazardzhik Symphony Orchestra; and the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, and has performed
under the batons of conductors such as Antony Hermus; Vitaliy Protasov; Roberto Tibiriçá;
András Deák; Ronald Corp; Grigor Palikarov; Stephen Threlfall; and Victor Eloy Lopez
Cerezo.
Aside from working on his own performances, Noah is a Co-Artistic Director of The
Piano Concerto Festival. This event is focused around granting young pianists access to a
professional orchestra, which they are invited to perform with, and also aims to provide them
with connections to future performance opportunities.
