About death and the meaning of life.
Would you like to philosophise about death and the meaning of life? During the Spirit, the Amstelkerk has been renamed the Dood Gaan We Allemaal Kerk (We Will All Die Church). Enter this house of worship and be inspired by Stine Jensen, philosopher, writer and programme maker.
Stine Jensen is professor of public philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam and columnist for NRC Handelsblad. She has published many philosophical children’s books and books for adults. Her children’s book ‘Lieve Stine, weet jij het?’ (Dear Stine, do you know?) was awarded a Zilveren Griffel in 2015. She recently published ‘Goddeloos. Waarom we atheïsme nodig hebben’ (Godless. Why we need atheism).
This program is part of the Dood Gaan We Allemaal Church
Dood Gaan We Allemaal is a platform dedicated to death, grief, and farewells. Through
events and content, we invite visitors to reflect on their own mortality and open meaningful
conversations about loss and life. With openness, curiosity, vulnerability, a touch of dark
humor, and outstanding music, we demonstrate that facing death can help you engage more
deeply with life itself.
