The Spirit of Amsterdam is een 3-daags stadsfestival voor de jonge geest, dat plaatsvindt in 40+ Amsterdamse gebedshuizen tijdens de viering 750 jaar Amsterdam. Beleef bij Embrace een festival vol diverse culturen, waar mensen van verschillende religies, culturen en tradities samenkomen, elkaar leren kennen en vieren!
Terwijl veel Nederlanders mopperen over migratie vieren we in Amsterdam dat wat we zijn: een migrantenstad.
PROGRAM
With Embrace, we bring together new Amsterdammers and fellow citizens through music and delicious food.
17:00 – 20:00h
We start the evening with a dinner, provided by the beautiful community of Turning Tables. Food from different cultures will be prepared with residents from the asylum center the GALAXY. At the diner we invite you to take a seat at the table: there where stories are being shared, unfolded, and discovered.
20:00 – 22:00h
After the dinner we’ll transform the Vondelkerk into a vibrant space full of music and dance. The concert will take us on a musical journey with people from all over the world, from Syria and East Africa to Amsterdam.

WHY EMBRACE?
Embrace is a response to the challenges surrounding refugees today. What makes Embrace really special is that newcomers are involved in creating this event. We work together with Regenboog groep to make the connections that are made through the event, last. In this way, work towards a lasting impact of embracing cultural diversity and promote acceptance, understanding and inclusiveness.
