Elke eerste dinsdag van de maand treden studenten van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam op in de Posthoornkerk. Ontdek nieuw talent als eerste in deze serie van Stadsherstel en het Conservatorium.

CAOBA ensemble is a music group made up of five members. Having met at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, they decided to carry out a chamber music project where, in addition to playing as a quintet, they could perform works as a duo, trio or quartet.

Biography

Iker Isasi (altviool) was born in Bilbao, Spain, in 2001. He embarked on his musical journey at the age of 7, studying the viola at the Conservatory of Leioa. Graduating with top honors in 2019, he quickly became involved in various orchestral projects, notably joining ensembles such as the EIO and assuming a principal
role within the Basque Country Youth Orchestra (EGO). Continuing his education, he pursued his Bachelor’s degree at Musikene in San Sebastian, mentored by Natasha Tchitch. Venturing into the international orchestral scene, he participated in prestigious projects including the Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO) and the Neue Philharmonie München, showcasing his talent alongside renowned musicians such as Klaus Mäkelä and Yuja Wang. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, he studies under the guidance of Francien Schatborn and Frederik Boits, prominent figures in the orchestral world.

Tamara Korkadze (viool), a Georgian violinist based in Amsterdam, is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the tutelage of Professor Ilya Grubert. She has emerged as a prize winner in numerous international and national competitions. In 2018, she was awarded a prestigious Dutch scholarship, which enabled her to further her studies and immerse herself in the vibrant musical scene of the Netherlands. Since then, Tamara has been dedicated to honing her
craft in Amsterdam, actively participating in various chamber music and orchestra festivals both domestically and abroad. She has been selected as one of the academists in 2023 for Amsterdam Sinfonietta. Currently, Tamara performs on a Stradivari model violin crafted in 2020 by the renowned Dutch violin maker, Metthew Besseling.

Jesús Perogil (viool) was born in Seville, Spain, in 2001. Under the guidance of maestra Liana Gourdjia in San Sebastián, he completed his violin studies. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in violin performance at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with maestro Ilya Grubert. He has received masterclasses from esteemed violinists including Renaud Capuçon, Tatiana Samouil, Francesca Dego, and the Guarneri Trio of Prague. A seasoned performer, he has appeared as a soloist on numerous occasions and participated in prestigious festivals and academies worldwide, such as the Menuhin International Music Academy of Switzerland and the Elba Music Festival in Italy. A graduate of the Barenboim-Said Foundation, he is also a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE) and frequently collaborates with the Euskadiko Orkestra of the Basque Country. Furthering his expertise, he is currently studying baroque violin with maestro Emmanuel RescheCaserta, the concertmaster of Les Arts Florissants. He plays on an instrument crafted by the renowned Italian Master violin maker Danielle Tonarelli.

Claudia Loyer (cello) is a French-Spanish cellist. Commencing her musical journey in Madrid, she honed her skills before pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid under the guidance of Xavier Gagnepain in Paris. During this transformative period, Claudia emerged as a member of the esteemed French Youth Orchestra and secured the first prize in the prestigious cello competition “Prodige Art” in Paris. She has always been deeply involved in chamber music, fostering
collaborative endeavors and showcasing her talent as a soloist in illustrious cities such as Madrid and Paris. Currently, she resides in Amsterdam, where she is furthering her musical prowess by pursuing a Master’s degree in the soloist program specializing in cello at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the tutelage of Ella van Poucke.

Sandra Cebrian (piano) is as Spanish pianist hailing from Medina del Campo, embarked on her musical journey at the Conservatory of Castilla y León under the mentorship of Miriam Gómez-Morán. She achieved top honors in piano, earning the highest marks in her class and receiving the prestigious Extraordinary End of Degree Prize. Throughout her career, Sandra has engaged in collaborations with various chamber ensembles and orchestras, including the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE) and Ensemble Praeteritum. Her dedication to performance has led her to participate actively in concert activities, further enriching her musical experiences. Currently, Sandra is pursuing a Master’s degree specializing in piano performance as a soloist at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Frank van de Laar.
