Het Neyma Saxophone Quartet speelt ‘Harmonic Odyssey’. Met werken van A. Borodin, T. Escaich, G. Lago en S. Barber.
Het Neyma Saxophone Quartet is een recent opgericht ensemble gevestigd in Amsterdam, opgericht in 2024. Het kwartet bestaat uit getalenteerde musici die studeren aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam onder de begeleiding van de gerenommeerde professoren Arno Bornkamp en Willem van Merwijk. Met hun diepgaande begrip van kamermuziek kenmerken zij zich door een verfijnd muzikaal samenspel, een sterke collectieve sensibiliteit en een dynamische benadering van het repertoire. Dit maakt hen een veelbelovende nieuwe aanwinst binnen de wereld van saxofoonkwartetten.

Soprano Saxophone
Doron Hazan, (b. 2003) , began his musical studies with Gersh Geller and Boris Gamer at the Hassadna Conservatory in Jerusalem. He later studied with Jean-Denis Michat at the Lyon Conservatory and is currently a student of Arno Bornkamp at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Doron has won first prizes in competitions across ten countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States.
Alto Saxophone
Raquel Lima, (b. 2005), saxophonist from Porto, Portugal, had her first contact with music at the age of seven at the Associação Banda de Música de Moreira da Maia. She initially played cavaquinho before transitioning to classical guitar and later saxophone, studying with Nuno Silva and Miriam Muiño. In 2015, she joined the Conservatório de Música do Porto under Rosa Oliveira, and in 2020, she was admitted to Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho (EPME), where she studied with Fernando Ramos. Currently, she is pursuing her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CVA).
Tenor Saxophone
Samuel Jesset, (b. 2000) a French saxophonist from Orléans, began his musical journey under the guidance of Francis Lecointe. Embracing a diverse musical path, he explored electronic music production and jazz alongside his classical saxophone studies. He later moved to Versailles to pursue his Bachelor’s degree with Nicolas Arsenijevic. Currently, he is furthering his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he is completing his Master’s degree under the mentorship of Arno Bornkamp and Willem van Merwijk.
Baritone Saxophone
André Capela, (b. 2005), from Lisbon, Portugal, began his musical journey at the age of 8 with Orquestra Geração, where he had his first contact with music. He later pursued his
studies at the Escola Profissional Metropolitana, refining his skills under the guidance of João Pedro Silva. Currently, he is completing his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, further developing his artistry and passion for the saxophone and chamber music.
