Mystic Night is een spirituele muziek- en dansvoorstelling waarin Arabische en Indiase tradities samenkomen in een ritueel van liefde, extase en overgave, geïnspireerd door de soefiwijsheid van Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Enter a deep state of spiritual ecstasy through a new ritual of music and beauty, born out of pure love. Take a glass and drink from this spiritual wine.
A musical love story sung by Wasim Arslan (Syria) and Tritha (India, France) accompanied by a classical Arabic ensemble, interwoven with spiritual teachings inspired by the ideas of Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Wine is a powerful symbol in Sufism, a metaphor for the state of divine closeness and ecstasy. The cupbearer is the spiritual teacher, the one who allows the soul to taste the spiritual intoxication. This performance is inspired by the ideas of Hazrat Inayat Khan, a child of the Mughal Empire, where Islamic and Hindu traditions intersected and inspired each other. During Mystic Night, we delve into the immense wisdom of this mystic and allow ourselves to be enraptured by the beauty of Arabic and Indian music, poetry, and Sufi dance; on our way to a state of surrender and unconditional love.
During Mystic Night, the Vondelkerk is our temple of love. Where vines gracefully climb the pillars, and where the dramatic neo-Gothic vaults raise our eyes to the heavens. A sacred place, clad in deep red velvet. A house of worship with a grandeur of beauty and a rich history. This evening, we will write a new story, born of another time and world, yet in its essence, entirely timeless. In this temple, aesthetics, music, and words converge in unforgettable harmony, and a gateway opens to total surrender to love.
