The Bailmer Duo, a piano and saxophone chamber music group, consists of two young portuguese musicians who currently study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, at the classical department. They intend to share their passion and admiration for Fado, considered intangible cultural heritage, while exploring the standard and modern repertoire written or arranged for their setting.
It is no accident that the name Bailmer results from a portuguese transliteration of the original term Bijlmer, a neighbourhood where both of the musicians have once lived. Formed by Luís Abreu de Lima and Pedro Correia da Silva this duo aims to display their art through creative performances around Portugal and the Netherlands in order to relate their musical identity to a cultural fusion between the two countries.
