Sofía Navarro (Madrid, 1996), a violinist born into a family of architects, started her musical path at the age of three. In 2010, she played her debut as a soloist with the orchestra Young Moscow Artists. On that same year, her solo recordings were broadcasted by the National Spanish Television (RTVE) within the program “Young Soloists”.
Sofía has permanently followed a lifetime guidance under the mentorship of Olga Vilkomirskaia, heir of the violinistic legacy of David Oistrakh. Having previously studied at Madrid with a fellowship awarded by the Katarina Gurska Foundation, as well as at the Royal College of Music of London, Sofía continued her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Professor Ilya Grubert. Currently, having been awarded an Excellence Fellowship from the Mutua Madrileña Foundation, Sofía is a student at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, within the prestigious class of Alexei Moshkov.
Ángel Martín del Burgo
Born in Bilbao (Spain, 1996), pianist Ángel Martín del Burgo devotes himself to music, composition and literature.
He currently is a student at Antwerpen (Belgium), within the prestigious class of Sergei Edelmann, heir of the pianistic legacy of F. Blumenfeld and H. Neuhaus. Some other of his main influences have been artists such as Joaquín Soriano, Cesar Viana, Mariana Gurkova, Bruno Vlahek, Elena Aguado, Sebastián Mariné, Bruno Aprea and Olga Vilkomirskaia.
Awarded with distinctions from the Miguel Ángel Colmenero Foundation, he has won Prizes at the National Competition for Young Pianists “City of Albacete” (Jeunesses Musicales), Competition “City of Carlet”, IX Chamber Music Competition “City of Ávila” (Jeunesses Musicales), Katarina Gurska Foundation Competition and the 5th International Turniej Kameralny of Bydgoszcz (Poland).
He has played as a soloist with orchestras such as the Orquesta del Real Sitio, Orquesta Sinfónica Amaniel, Joven Orquesta Leonesa, JOPM, Sonor Ensemble, Ensemble Galilei or Ensemble OnOff, working with conductors Borja Quintas, Luis Aguirre, Pablo Andoni, Teresa Riveiro Böhm, Daniel Montes, Jorge Nicolás, Jaime Casper, Juan Ignacio Perea, and Alberto García. Devoting himself as well to the performance of chamber music, he holds a Duo with violinist Sofía Navarro and integrates the Trio 1900, besides having offered concerts together with A. Yaroshinsky, P. P. Cámara, Carlos Marín or the legendary pianist Maria Joao Pires.
